Fall into Doulapalooza!
Louisville and southern Indiana professionals gather to promote birth options, breastfeeding, and babies on Saturday, Oct. 10
Birth Care Network invites you to participate in the 2015 Doulapalooza at the Douglass Loop Farmer's Market, Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Display and share your networking materials, art/crafts, birth and parenting items and supplies on a BCN Member Table for $25 and $35 for Non-Member Guests. This has always been a BYOT event (you must provide your own tables, chairs and tents) and there will be help to load in and out.
The designated area for the birth community tables will be inside the farm market circle, in the upper left hand curve on the Woodford Ave side of the property. The area extends onto a grassy lawn with picnic tables and space for blankets and chairs. Live music will be on the porchfront stage of the historic Woodbourne House. There are abundant shade trees and if the weather turns on us, we can utilize the gym at the Louisville Classical Academy but here's hoping for a crisp, sunny fall day!
This annual event began as a reunion for doulas and their client families as well as a way to celebrate birth advocacy. For over a decade, it has grown into a festival-style gathering for empowered birth featuring interaction with area practitioners, health care providers, and support organizations. And of course, the families they've served and potential new clients to shop and learn.
Bring a raffle gift of your choice for your table. Rolls of tickets will be provided.
Refreshments will be in the Doulapalooza area but everyone can enjoy the fresh breakfast and lunch fare, food trucks, snacks, beverages, and shopping at this wonderful market. Two safe playgrounds are available, one for the bigger kids and a fenced area with equipment for little ones.
This year's Doulapalooza also serves as a fundraiser for Birth Care Network. Let's keep the good word and great work going!
